Drake Speaks On Takeoff’s Passing – ‘I Got The Best Memories Of All Of Us Seeing The World Together’

It’s a sad day for the hip-hop community.

1/3 of the Migos rapper, Takeoff, 28, was shot and killed in Houston early morning on November 1. The tragic incident happened during a dice game. An altercation broke out, and shots were fired, fatally hitting Takeoff. Full details continue to unfold.

Drake shared his thoughts online. He posted a photo of Takeoff performing on stage. In the caption, Drizzy wrote a beautiful tribute about how they saw the world together. Drake said, 

“I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That’s what I’ll focus on for now. rest easy space man Takeoff.

Quality Control, the label Takeoff was signed too, also spoke out online. In an IG post, they shared a message that says:

“It’s with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff.” The message goes on to say, “senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated.” It ends with, “please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.” 

Police are investigating the tragedy. The shooter hasn’t been arrested. As of yet, Quavo or Offset hasn’t spoken out publicly.
