The drug dealer that sold fatal pills to Mac Miller got sentenced.
As reported on news sources, Ryan Reavis will be in prison for nearly 11 years. Travis was sentenced to 10 years and 11 months. In November, he pleaded guilty to one count of distributing fentanyl. At the time, Reavis requested five years, and prosecutors were hoping for 12.5, Revolt points out.
According to reports, Reavis supplied Mac Miller’s alleged drug dealer, Cameron Pettit, with the laced oxycodone pills. Reavis claims he was “just a middle man.” Rolling Stone reports Reavis also said he had “no idea” the counterfeit oxycodone was laced with fentanyl. He also said he didn’t know the pills killed Mac Miller. He also asked for only five years in custody again.
When he was arrested in Lake Havasu, prosecutors point out that Reavis had three guns in his possession, plus boxes of ammunition, “digital scales covered in heroin and methamphetamine residue,” blank prescription pads, and baggies.
Karen Meyers, Mac’s mom, said her life “went dark” the moment Malcolm died. She said,
“Malcolm was my person, more than a son. We had a bond and kinship that was deep and special, and irreplaceable. We spoke nearly every day about everything – his life, plans, music, dreams.” She continued,
“He would never knowingly take a pill with fentanyl, ever. He wanted to live and was excited about the future. The hole in my heart will always be there.”
Mac Miller died on September 7, 2018, from an accidental overdose. He struggled with addiction and substance abuse, often referenced in his music.
