Prayers up for the hip hop legend, Biz Markie.

According to news sources, Biz Markie has been hospitalized for the last several weeks. He’s being treated for a serious illness (not COVID-19 related), which triggered his type two diabetes. The status of his condition is reportedly unclear, but the “Just A Friend” rapper is receiving the best care and they are remaining positive

Fat Joe, Missy Elliot, and DJ Chuck Chill Out shared a few words for their friend online. Fat Joe said,

“I met @officialbizmarkie when i was a teenager he was the first super star to tell me he believed in me and I’ll make it. This is so inspirational to me knowing someone who made it to tell me I’ll make it. Biz also made my favorite hip hop song ever the “vapors” when i grew up i had nothing and i told them all i was going to Get rich or die trying. I love you Biz thank you for always bringing joy to this world I’m praying you get better everyone let’s pray for my brother and always remember “NOBODY BEATS THE BIZ.”

Missy Elliot tweeted out that she’s sending prayers. DJ Chuck Chill Out also shared special words on his IG.

Back in 2014 during an interview with ABC, Biz Markie told them that he had to make lifestyle changes, or else his diabetes would get worse.

“[Doctors] said I could lose my feet. They said I could lose body parts. A lot of things could happen,” Biz said, reported on ABC

Biz lost 140 pounds during his weight loss journey. We’re sending love and light to his family, friends, and fans.
