Will this make it all better?

During Black History Month, Gucci dropped a blackface sweater that caused a lot of controversy.

In response to the uproar, Gucci and Harlem designer Dapper Dan are working together to make sure something like this never happens again. Dapper Dan took to IG to announce their new program.

Their Changemakers Council will include a board that will work closely together to decide on what will hit the shelves. The Harlem designer wrote on social media, this thisnew element will be a “game changer” for Gucci. Other black designers like him will be given new opportunities.

Through the Gucci Changemakers initiative, there will also be a scholarship program. The Changemakers Scholarship will award a $20,000 grant to selected students over the course of four years. They also have a $5 million fund that will invest in community-based programs, especially those in urban communities.
