Hampton University Opening Their Doors For Students Affected By Ukrainian Crisis

Hampton University is doing what it can to help students impacted by the Ukrainian crisis.

University President Dr. William Harvey announced the institution is offering free room, board, and tuition to Ukrainian and international students who were studying in Ukraine and forced to relocate because of the continuing war with Russia. 50 to 100 students who are in the midst of the danger in Ukraine Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Western Allie’s including the U.S. punished Russia with new economic sanctions. Putin warned that if countries interfere with his plans, they’ll “face consequences they’ve never seen before.” will be able to come to Hampton for free this summer, according to Harvey. In a statement, he said, 

“The collective Hampton University faculty, staff, and students are heartbroken because the war-torn country of Ukraine must deal with atrocities like the bombing of maternity wards, hospitals, and other civilian areas.” He continued,“I think this partnership is something that can be beneficial to a great number of students and families. My entire career has been focused on helping people to achieve and meet their goals.” However, some people on social media have mixed reactions. Take a look:

CNN also reports US President Joe Biden and other world leaders will hold a set of emergency summits in Europe this week. In addition, Biden has “no plans” to visit Ukraine, the White House said.
