Happy World Health Day! Here’s 10 Things You Can Do To Stay Safe!

Today, April 7th, is World Health Day and as usual, we are saluting the healthcare workers on the front-line during this pandemic.

As we know the COVID-19 is continuously spreading and we have to take matters into our own hands by flattening the curve.  Although, there is no specific treatment or vaccine to prevent COVID-19, a few helpful and effective preventive measures according to the ​National Library of Medicine is basic everyday health precautions.

Here’s 10 things you can do to keep you and your family safe during this pandemic.

  1. Washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Avoiding contact with your mouth, eyes, and nose with unwashed hands can help keep you safe from infection.
  3.  Practice social distancing,  you should be maintaining a healthy distance between yourself  and other people, at least six feet.
  4. Disinfect surfaces, including desk tops, phone keypads, computer keyboards, TV remotes, door handles and kitchen counters- using alcohol-based disinfectant.
  5. Don’t shake hands, hug, or kiss anyone. Even family members.
  6. Don’t eat food or handle dishes or utensils touched by a sick family member.
  7. Practice GOOD hygiene. Meaning, sneezing/coughing into a tissue, wearing gloves. Don’t touch the outside of the gloves when you remove them, dispose of latex or other types of plastic gloves.
  8. Avoid places with crowds, if you have to go to the grocery store- please practice social distancing.
  9. Limit the places you drive, and how many people you have in the car. The more places you go, the higher your chances are of interacting with someone or something with the virus.
  10. Most importantly- STAY HOME. If you aren’t going to the doctors, or the grocery store. Please stay home, home is the safest places for your to quarantine. Stay home, stay safe.
