Hot 97’s own Bobby Konders has released a new project called Bobby Konders Presents Massive B Legacy – Volume 1. This is the first album of an ongoing series of compilations album that will include a mix of new reggae songs and classic reggae hits.
For this album, fans will get to hear songs from artists such as Richie Spice, T.O.K., Elephant Man, Sizzla, Vybz Kartel, and more, including a video for Kartel’s latest song “What U Sellin”, which are also produced by Konders.
The Jamaican- born DJ, formed Massive B with longtime friends Jabba and Burro Banton back in 1992 and 25 years later they have the largest Reggae show in America on Hot 97 on Sundays.
“From day one its been me, Jabba and Burro Banton as the Massive B original artist. Over the years we have grown with other members on the sound system such as Chudney Shotta, AK, Lando, X Man, Kartel and of course Majah Hype, who blew up as an Instagram sensation with a burgeoning comedy career.”
They have also toured and held shows all over the world including Europe, Canada, African, and the Caribbean.
“This is a lifelong journey from touring the world to living at studios in Brooklyn, NY to Kingston, Jamaica”, said Konders about being a part of Massive B and incorporating that into this album.
This album series is unlike any other albums that Massive B have put together throughout the years. Konders wanted bring something different to the table. “There’s a lot of great songs on Massive B label that I produced. I wanted to highlight the music as well myself as a producer”, Konders said. “There are many classics that the younger generation will be like. Oh I remember that song. I wanted to bring some attention to them songs.”
Konders has more in store after the release of this first series. “I will release #2 next year with the same concept. Massive B classics an put 1 or 2 new songs on it with videos. I also have a lot new music I am dropping Jan 2019.”
