Sad day for the DJ community.

International Colombian-America DJ and music producer Erick Morillo, 49, was found dead in his home in Miami Beach.

The details surrounding his death are still unclear as the story develops but Erick’s family confirmed his passing to People, “He was well-loved by his family and he had a lot of love to give.”

The news comes a few weeks after he was arrested and charged in Miami for sexual battery after a rape kit from a victim came back positive with his DNA. He was supposed to appear in court on Friday, September 4. He denied the allegations, which were made from a female DJ he worked with at a private event in 2019.

Throughout Erick’s career, he won Best House DJ’ and ‘Best International DJ’ titles three times. He gained recognition in the ’90s and was most known for his hit dance song “I Like To Move It.”
