J. Cole may have changed a former inmates life for the better.

Back in 2017, the rapper visited one of San Francisco’s most famous prisons, and a former inmate is speaking out about how impactful his visit was. The visit was special because aside from the inmates meeting arguably one of the greatest lyricist, Cole also spit some bars for them.

Former incarcerated lifer Adnan Khan spoke about his experience via Twitter. He wrote, “J Cole came to San Quentin State Prison and did a song (no music, just sat in a circle with us and spit) for about 40 of us incarcerated ppl “in the back” of the education building.”

“He knew how fucked up the system is & wanted to learn more from us living in the fire-to use his platform to educate fans & bring actual change,” he writes.
