J. Cole Reportedly Signs New Basketball Contract w/ CEBL’s Scarborough Shooting Stars

J. Cole will be back on the basketball court!

According to senior lead NBA writer/analyst Shams Charania of The Athletic, Cole is signing a contract with the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Charania Tweeted the news earlier today (May 19).

In the Tweet, he said, “Sources: J. Cole is signing [a contract] with the Scarborough Shooting Stars (@sss_cebl) in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, the rap star’s second consecutive year playing professionally. CEBL training camp began this week, with [the season] opener on May 26.” Take a look:

J. Cole hasn’t spoken out on it as of yet. TSN notes this will be the second-straight season Cole will play professionally. In 2021, he played for the Patriots Basketball Club in the Basketball Africa League. He played three games with the Patriots, averaging 1.7 points 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, the outlet reports. In 2012, he played in the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game.

In other exciting Cole world news, he kept his promise to a fan he met in 2013. Cierra Bosarge asked Cole to attend her high school graduation. He said he would only if she got accepted into a 4-year school. Cierra did, she graduated, and Cole kept his promise.
