Judge Dismisses Third-Degree Murder Charges Against Derek Chauvin For The Death Of George Floyd

According to reports, a judge has dismissed a third-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin, who is one of four former Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd.

Reportedly, Judge Peter Cahill ruled that Chauvin still faces charges of second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges.

George Floyd was killed in the hands of police on March 25th. His passing sparked national outrage. Chauvin, was released on $1 million bond earlier this month. He was seen in videos  kneeling on Floyd’s neck for almost eight minutes, while the Floyd told Chauvin and three other officers that he couldn’t breathe.
