Juelz Santana Says Being Locked Up Was A Learning Experience, 'Turn Jail Into Yale’

Juelz Santana didn’t let prison keep him from being great.

The Harlem rapper chopped it up with Vlad TV. During the conversation, Juelz spoke on his 17-month jail sentence after he brought a loaded gun to Newark, NJ airport in March 2018.

Juelz said he used jail as a “learning experience” since he didn’t want to be there. He said, “For me, I got to turn jail into Yale. I got to be smarter, I got to read a lot more and I got back to writing. Like I wrote so much in there. Like my execution plans since I been home been phenomenal right now, like I’m just all the way in getting to it.”

At the time of the airport incident, Juelz escaped the airport after TSA agents discovered the loaded gun and eight oxycodone pills in his travel bag. Juelz eventually turned himself in. He plead guilty to pled guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

In music news, he teased a new project dropping next month. He shared a preview of an upcoming track he has with A Booogie. His new album is set to arrive next month.
