Kanye West did something significant for DMX’s family.

Yeezy teamed up with Balenciaga and dropped an exclusive DMX shirt, and it sold out in less than 24 hours. The shirts went for $200 a piece. According to a report, Ye was able to raise $1 million. Hip Hop N More notes Balenciaga will give the net proceeds to the family of DMX.

Last week, Swizz announced he wanted Kanye to attend DMX’s funeral. He was present during the memorial at the Barclays but kept a low profile to avoid media attention. The article reports Kanye helped with the stage design and recruited Akeem Smith to help design the layout. Yeezy’s Sunday Service choir also performed, plus guests like Nas, Jadakiss, Eve, and Swizz Beatz spoke to the crowd.

X was laid to rest over the weekend. On April 24, there was a private celebration of life service at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. He had another private home-going celebration on April 25 at Brooklyn’s Christian Cultural Center.

Earlier in April, DMX was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack triggered by an overdose. He was in critical condition and fighting for his life for a week. Unfortunately, his brain was in a “vegetative state,” and he passed away on April 9. DMX was only 50 years old. He left behind 15 children and a fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom.
