Kobe Bryant’s induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will not be happening this year.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony for the class of 2020 has been pushed back to 2021. The Hall of Fame’s chairman, Jerry Colangelo, stated that the board of governors will hold a meeting on June 10th to decide a new date for the Hall of Fame class of 2020 in 2021.

Colangelo also stressed that the ceremonies for 2020 and 2021 will be separate. “The Class of 2020 is a very special class and deserves its own celebration.”

Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Tamika Catchings are also a part of the class of 2020.
