We all have to accept our mistakes sometime.
It has been over two years since the breakup between Kehlani and Kyrie Irving, yet internet will still not let her live it down.
On Friday (June 15), the Boston Celtics star decided to go on Instagram and close the door once and for all. He wrote an open letter to the singer, and apologized for the way she has been treated following rumors that she had cheated with him with singer PARTYNEXTDOOR.
“I’m sorry, I know this is long over due,” he wrote. “I have to speak on this simply because I owe it to you and you deserve the world to see you for you and how beautiful you are inside and out, and not for the attachment to an emotional moment in time where we both had to grow up and learn about our hearts and our souls in a world that judges and adds on fictitious pressure.”
During the letter he reveals that she did not cheat on him, and that there is more to the story than what anyone is aware of.
She later responded to his message saying in part, “I appreciated it no matter how long it took, I respect it being done period when really neither of us should be the one apologizing, All love on this side!”
This unfortunate incident caused Kehlani to attempt suicide following the extreme and nonstop backlash on social media following the reaction of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s photo of the two together surfaced.
