Lala Anthony landed a new gig, and it hits close to home.

Lala has a role in 50 Cent’s Black Mafia Family.

According to a report, the Power star will play Markaisha Taylor. Taylor is the wife to the flamboyant drug dealer and head of the family Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory. Taylor has a close relationship with her husband’s brother/boss, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory. Loyalty gets challenged, making the plot more spicy.

BMF is based on the life and actual events of  Big Meech and Southwest T, in the late 1980s. They come from southwest Detroit’s troubling streets. The Black Mafia Family is one of the most influential crime families who chased the American Dream; however, things happened along the way that disrupted their brotherhood.

Big Meech’s son, Demetrius, also known as “Lil Meech,” will make his acting debut and play his father. Grown-ish actor Da’Vinchi will play the role of BMF’s co-founder/Big Meech’s brother, Southwest T. Snoop Dogg was also added to the cast. Kash Doll has a recurring role in the show as Monique. Russell Hornsby will star as the family’s patriarch, Charles Flenory, according to All Hip Hop. Tasha Smith is the director and said the pilot is complete.

G Unit Film and Television, in association with Stars and Lion’s Gate, produced the film. No release date yet.
