It’s been a little over two years since Nipsey Hussle was tragically killed.

Since then, his life partner and mother of his son, Lauren London, has been focused on grieving and being a support system for her family. She revealed she starred shooting scenes for Without Remorse back in 2019 after Nipsey’s murder.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lauren spoke about how she was able to manage everything. She said Michael B. Jordan reached out to her; he also stars in the film. Lauren said, “Michael [B. Jordan] reached out to me as a friend, and he was so unsure if I was even going to ever work again. And he was like, ‘Look, I’m unsure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my intuition; I have to ask you if can you just read the script.’”

Lauren told the publication she firmly believed she would be able to contribute to the project. She also spoke on the importance of continuing with your life, even when you’re grieving a loved one. She said, “We can’t stop, you know? We do have a purpose, all of us, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball because I curled up in a ball for a long time.” Take a look:

Without Remorse is based on Tom Clancy’s 1993 novel. Lauren stars in it with  Michael B. Jordan and she plays his character’s pregnant girlfriend. It’ll be released via Prime on April 30.
