2018 has been a good year for Angela Bassett. From starring in one of the most successful movies of the year, Black Panther, to her success in American Horror Story and 9-1-1, Ms. Bassett has been winning and she doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

For her latest venture, Ms. Bassett has made history by becoming the first female to play a decepticon (villain) in the latest Transformer installment, Bumblebee. Bassett plays the role of Shatter, the first female villain in the entire franchise. In a recent interview with Essence, Bassett reveals how much fun it was to play a bad guy. “I had the best fun, I usually end up in the universe where you’re noble and virtuous. But when you’re playing bad guys, they get to have a delectable amount of fun.”
