Mary J. Blige is sharing her feelings about the 1999 Video Music Awards.
This night was legendary for many reasons, but one particular reason that stands out is Lil Kim’s show-stopping outfit. The Queen Bee has also pushed the bar when it came to her artistry. Including her lyrics and her fashion, this night was no different. Kim was rocking a purple ensemble, slightly exposing her breast, with purple hair to match.
As Diana Ross, Mary and Kim were on stage presenting an award- Ms Ross hugged both the ladies, and gently tapped Kim on her breast.

That didn’t sit well with Mary. She joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and detailed how that made her feel. “I was embarrassed for Kim and I was pissed when that happened because that’s my little sister and my friend,” said Blige.
