Fresh off that “Wap” cameo and 2020 XXL Freshman Class, Mulatto is shaking the game up!

On Mulatto’s Instagram account, she celebrated earning her first gold status for her single “B*tch Of The Souf,” which was released last year, but the remix with Saweetie and Trina dropped this year. The status of the single also made Mulatto the first solo female rapper with a plaque!

“1st solo female rapper from Atlanta with a muthafucking plaque!!! I just made history!!! QUEEN OF DA SOUF 8/21. @bankrollgotit @saweetie @trinarockstarr @djyoungpharaoh THANK YOU”

Shortly after the buzz from the single, earlier this year, the Atlanta rapper signed a deal with RCA Records. Mulatto had been an independent artist for five years. Prior to that, she was a contestant on The Rap Game, produced by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah. Although Mulatto won on the show and was offered a record deal at 16, she ended up not signing with Jermaine.

Earlier this year, the 21-year-old rap star, paid homage to her favorite rapper, Gucci Mane by recreating covers from his classic mixtapes. The Ohio native recreated Gucci’s (2009) The State vs. Radric Davis, and (2016) The Return Of East Atlanta Santa. Her dream came true when Gucci agreed to hop on a collaboration with her for “Muwop,” a flip of his 2008 “Freaky Girl” song.

The “Solid” rapper was also selected to be on the 2020 XXL Freshman Class. She’s dropping her first project since being signed to RCA Records, Queen Of Da Souf, set to drop on August 21.
