The fight for George Floyd’s justice continues.

New details revealed from the tragic May 25 public murder of Floyd. The body camera footage was made public in order to provide a closer look into what happened. In the viral painful video showing former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin with his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, transcripts give more details on what Floyd was going through. According to CNN, Floyd told the ex-officers he couldn’t breathe more than 20 times.

Floyd was barely able to scream when he yelled, “I can’t breathe,” “they’re going to kill me,” and called for his mother in heaven. When Floyd continued to beg for his life, Chauvin said, “it takes a heck of a lot of oxygen to talk.” Chauvin clearly dismissed Floyd’s plea moments before he died so hopefully this sticks on the case.

All of the cops involved were fired, charged, and jailed following the horrific killing. Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, Tao Thao were charged with unintentional aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter. However, they have since been released after posting a bond with conditions.

Chavin remains in jail, on second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter charges with bond set at $1 million! Their next court date is September 11 and they go to trial in March 2021.
