Nick Cannon will no longer be working with Viacom!
Reported on Variety, Viacom is ending their business relationship with Nick Cannon. The company decided to cut ties with the comedian after he made anti-Semitic comments on his podcast, Cannon’s Class.
During the episode, Nick called Black people the “true Hebrews.” He also talked about anti-Semitic conspiracy theories including the Rothschild family. Nick said, “It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” Cannon said. “When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”
A ViacomCBS spokesperson released a statement to Variety, saying that Nick has been terminated. In a statement they said,
“ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism. We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him. We are committed to doing better in our response to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism, and bigotry. ViacomCBS will have further announcements on our efforts to combat hate of all kinds,” the company said.
On Monday (July 13) Nick Cannon spoke out on Twitter, following some of the backlash he received from his June 30 podcast episode.
Anyone who knows me knows that I have no hate in my heart nor malice intentions. I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric. We are living in a time when it is more important than ever to promote unity and understanding.

Nick had a relationship with Viacom for over a decade. His journey began in the early 90’s on Nickelodeon. He’s had his MTV Wild N’ Out show since 2005. He was also a host on Fox’s The Masked Singer and NBC’s America Got Talent from 2009 – 2016. He has a syndicated talk show gearing up to drop in September.
