Seems like the Jussie Smollet case is never going to end.
Although his case was dismissed, the city of Chicago still believes Smollett lied about getting attacked.
Reported on The Blast, back in April the city of Chicago sued Smollett for allegedly orchestrating a fake attack on himself. In the article, it says that Smollet’s defense attorney and Smollet are “contemplating” countersuing Chicago.
“Defendant contemplates filing an action against the City of Chicago and/or its agents for their conduct underlying the arrest and their conduct thereafter including constitutional claims and state law claims. Defendant reserves the right to bring such claims at the appropriate time provided by law,” the article reports.
Another source states Smollett is seeking $500,000. The city of Chicago is suing him for $390,000 to cover police overtime and legal bills.
