March 6th, 2001- 18 years ago, Missy Elliott debuted her hit single Get Ur Freak On. The song was released as her first single off the album, Miss E… So Addictive. Missy, as well as Timbaland wrote the track.
The hit record reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The success of the song reached new heights when it was listed as number 14 on Rolling Stone’s “Best Songs of the Decade” rankings.
Back in 2015, the song re-entered the charts, placed at number 40.
Almost 2 decades later, the classic song is still a hit.
