Meek Mill may finally be getting the break he has long deserved.

Philadelphia’s district attorney filed documents with the city’s Superior Court calling for a new trial and judge for the longstanding case of the rapper.

In his statement he said that Judge Genece Brinkley has “abused [her] discretion,” accused Brinkley for being impartial, and biased.

“We are very pleased that the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office has confirmed to the Superior Court that Meek is entitled to have his conviction vacated,” Meek Mill’s attorney, Jordan Siev said to ABC News. “The brief is also significant in that it marks the first time the DA has publicly outlined in writing that it supports Judge Brinkley’s recusal based on her ‘appearance of partiality’ and ‘public perception of unfairness and bias.’”

Meek Mill also reacted to the news on his Twitter page.
