Karl-Anthony Towns’ mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, 58, has died due to complications from the Coronavirus.
The family released a statement about Cruz-Towns, “Jackie was many things to many people – – a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The matriarch of Towns family, she was an incredible source of strength; fiery, caring, and extremely loving person, who touched everyone she met. Her passion was palpable and her energy will never be replaced.”
On March 25th, Karl-Anthony Towns posted a video on his Instagram page revealing that his mother was in a medically induced coma and was on a ventilator because of the virus. See the video below.
The Minnesota Timberwolves released a statement and gave their condolences to their fellow teammate.
