WWE Hall of Famer and legendary ring announcer Howard Finkel has passed away.

Finkel made his in-ring announcing debut with the WWE at Madison Square Garden in 1977. According to WWE, Finkel also known as the Fink the company’s longest-serving employee.

For wrestling fans, it was easy to recognize Finkel’s voice when announcing superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and The Rock to the ring. He was also known for what would later become his signature call, “and NNNNEEEWWWWWW World Champion.”

Apart from being an in-ring announcer, The Fink also experienced some in-ring wrestling action against his longtime rival Harvey Wippleman. The two battled in a Tuxedo Match on an episode of Monday Night Raw.

Howard Finkel was a well-respected figure within the WWE and on April 4, 2009, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Howard Finkel was 69 years old. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
