Quavo’s Huncho Day was a success.
The fifth annual charity football game, Huncho Day, reportedly raised $2 million over the weekend. The event took place at his old high school on April 29.
The Migos rapper presented the money to The Rocket Foundation, a program Quavo launched in memory of TakeOff. In a statement, the “Hotel Lobby” rapper said,
“I look forward to Huncho Day every year because I get together with some of my close friends and come back to the place where it all started for me. This year was extra special as we launched The Rocket Foundation in memory of TakeOff. He continued,
“It was a day where we got to play some football, raise money for the community, and remember Take.” Celebrities like 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, and JID attended the game at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia.
Hiphop DX points out Offset was “noticeably absent,” from the festivities. I’m addition, Team Huncho won the victory over Team Ramsey. Quavo also took home the MVP honors.
Take a look at some clips:
TakeOff was tragically killed outside a bowling alley in Houston on November 1. The shooting erupted following a heated dice game.
Earlier this year, the man charged with TakeOff’s murder was released from jail on a $1 million bond. Patrick Clark had to surrender his passport, he’s not allowed to leave his home or have any contact with TakeOff’s family.
