One of R.Kelly’s ex-girlfriends, Dominique Gardner held a recent interview with The New Yorker to explain her experiences with the singer over the years. Gardner, who is now 27-years-old, was with R. Kelly for nine years and during that time she explained that Kelly wanted to control her and that he tried to break her.
According to sources close to situation, they have said that Kelly enforces rules on the women that he lives with. Although, Gardner denies this description, she did say that she and the other girls couldn’t have a drink without his permission. The interview continued with Gardner saying that if she disobeyed him then consequences would happen which included beatings, slappings, spankings and being hit with an extension cord.
Gardner also spoke on why she would stay with Kelly after the beatings happened. “Every time I looked in his eyes, I knew he was sorry.”
