It’s no secret that Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj have had a long-standing beef with each other, which took a turn when Remy released the diss track ‘ShETHER’.

Since being released, Remy is finally opening up about why she did it. “I was already annoyed at everything that was going on. I was like, ‘Yo, as long as this is the way it is, nobody—not just me—no women are going to be able to succeed as long as this is how it is. If you don’t sound like this, if you don’t look like this, if you’re not bowing down to her, we’re never gonna get nowhere.”

Remy also discusses that the way she supported Minaj is not the way that Minaj supported the women in the industry.  Remy continued the conversation by saying that Minaj reached out to her in 2014, just after she was released from prison.

“When I came home we had had a conversation where she actually reached out to me,” Remy said. “We had a real conversation. Anything I say, they gon’ say I’m comin’ at you. Anything you say, they gon’ say you comin’ at me. We’re not gon’ let it get to us and I thought that’s where we was at.”
