The countdown begins.

With just a month to go until the 2023 Super Bowl, on Friday (Jan. 13) Rihanna released a new trailer that teases her highly anticipated halftime show.

The 30-second video clip opens with the nine-time Grammy Award winner strutting into a spotlight wearing an oversized neon green faux fur coat and unique braided hairstyle. Soundbites of fans and reporters questioning her absence throughout the years plays in the background. “It’s been 2,190 days… It’s been over six years… Rihanna is who everybody is waiting for… The last album we got from Rihanna was ‘Anti’ in 2016,” plays over one another louder and louder, while Rihanna makes her way down the walkway. Once the voices stop, Rihanna places a “Shh” finger to her lips, then we hear a snippet of her 2016 hit single “Needed Me” as she exits.

Apple Music has replaced Pepsi as the official sponsor of the halftime show. “Rihanna is an incredible recording artist who is a favorite for many millions of Apple Music customers around the world,” Apple’s Vice President of Apple Music and Beats Oliver Schusser said in a statement. “We’re excited to partner with Rihanna, Roc Nation and the NFL to bring music and sports fans a momentous show — what an incredible artist for the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.”

Super Bowl LVII will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, Feb. 12.
