Rihanna recently stepped out in Los Angeles, California with her rapper boyfriend ASAP Rocky wearing a new hairdo that had social media in an uproar. She had box braids in the front and a weave in the back.
The singer, who is known to be a style icon and trendsetter with her unique fashion choices, welcomed her first child with ASAP Rocky in May this year. In a recent interview with Vogue, Rihanna admitted that she is still adjusting to the experiences of parenthood. “I used to get tired and just push through and keep going. This is tired that you have no control over it. Your body is shutting down,” she told the magazine. “And just recently, I pushed through three days at the studio in a row. Like, slept in the studio to get a song done because it’s a project that’s really important to me coming out. I believed it, and I wanted to be a part of it, so I got it done.”
The 34-year-old Grammy Award winner had Black Twitter thinking her newborn may be responsible for her recent “incomplete hairstyle.” Some even defended Rihanna, claiming that she’s just about to start another trend.
Twitter user Redforjanet wrote, “I said ‘aww, Rih’s box braids are so cute’ then –.”
“Watch other people wear their hair like this just because Rihanna did it. My fav is a trendsetter,” Love95604 tweeted.

“Best thing Rihanna did for herself was adopting the dgaf attitude because imagine getting on the internet to diagnose someone of [postpartum] depression because she’s happily rocking whatever hair she likes lol,” a Twitter user tweeted in response to someone asking if Rihanna is going through postpartum depression.
“Rihanna’s hair wasn’t done being braided but sis went out with her man for [ice cream]. The braids can wait. Love it,” wrote Deedeizzy.
