Today (Feb. 9), Rihanna sat down with Apple Music for an exclusive press conference ahead of her highly anticipated Super Bowl LVII halftime performance.

During the exclusive interview, the “Lift Me Up” singer opened up to Nadeska Alexis about how she’s been preparing for the big day. “The Fenty highlighter is definitely helping today because I have yet to sleep. We were working at the venue all last night, and I kinda just stayed there and ended up in a prep, and somehow I’m here, at a press conference right now,” she said.

The new mom continued, “I’ve been so focused on the Super Bowl, I’ve totally forgotten that my birthday is coming up. I totally forgot about Valentine’s Day. It’s just like, Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl. So It’s a lot of preparation, a lot of moving parts and this week, this is the week that it’s really being tested.”

“The setlist was the biggest challenge, Rihanna added. “That was the hardest hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what this show’s going to be — a celebration of my catalog in the best way that we could have put it together. And you only have 13 minutes, that’s the challenge, and you’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes. So it’s difficult, some songs we have to loose because of that but that’s okay. I think we did a pretty good job narrowing it down,” she added. “One thing is for certain, we are ready.”

This Sunday (Feb. 12), the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Apple Music replaced Pepsi as this year’s Super Bowl sponsor.
