RIP: Legend Biz Markie Passes Away At Age 57

Prayers up!

It is being reported that the legendary rapper/entertainer Biz Markie has passed away at age 57. It was previously reported that Biz was hospitalized for a diabetes-related illness two weeks ago.  A source confirmed with The Share Room that Biz was battling this illness for over a year, which ultimately led to his passing.

A rep for Biz Markie left a statement with the publication, “We are grateful for the many calls and prayers of support that we have received during this difficult time. Biz created a legacy of artistry that will forever be celebrated by his industry peers and his beloved fans whose lives he was able to touch through music, spanning over 35 years. He leaves behind a wife, many family members and close friends who will miss his vibrant personality, constant jokes and frequent banter.”

Earlier this month, it was erroneously reported that he had passed away, which was later debunked that night. Although confirmed he was feeling ill.

Biz, whose real name is, Marcel Theo Hall, was most known for his hit single “Just a Friend,” and his infamous beat boxing skills.

May he rest peacefully.
