It feels like the end of an era.

Founder of Playboy magazine Hugh Hefner passed away at his legendary Playboy Mansion last night (Sept 27) of natural causes.

The 91-year-old is best known for the iconic men’s lifestyle magazine which was born in 1953 after borrowing $8,000 from friends and family including $1,000 from his mom, and creating an empire.

It’s first issue included a nude shot of Marilyn Monroe.

His net worth at his passing was $50 million. In 2016 he sold his Playboy mansion to billionaire investor C. Dean Metropoulos who under the agreement allowed Hefner to stay in the mansion for the rest of his life.
