After years of speculation, Whitney Houston’s former best friend Robyn Crawford has decided to open up and share intimate details on their relationship in a brand new memoir.
To promote her book, A Song For You: My Life With Whitney Houston, she sat down with TODAY where for the first time ever she decided to talk openly about how their friendship grew, and the first time they became intimate with each other.
“Our friendship was a deep friendship,” she said. “In the early part of that friendship, it was physical… It was during that first summer that we met, was the first time our lips touched. And it wasn’t anything planned. It just happened. And it felt wonderful. And then, not long after that, we spent the night together. And that evening was the night that we touched, and that just brought us closer.”

She also spoke on her decison to finally speak out after years of staying silent.
“I never envisioned speaking publicly about my life. Then I ask myself the question, what would Whitney want? Would she understand that the time is now?”
