The mixed martial arts world lost another talent to sports entertainment as one of the UFC’s most prolific fighters of recent memory decided to make that move.
Yesterday (Jan 28), at the end of WWE’s Royal Rumble event, Ronda Rousey surprised the crowd. It was at that moment reported that she had signed a full time contract with the company to fight in their talented woman’s division which had just ended the first all-woman Royal Rumble match.
She didn’t speak at her first appearance, but did leave a statement to ESPN.
“This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt,” Rousey said. “When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.’”
