Say Her Name: New Footage Of Sandra Bland’s Encounter w/ Trooper Released

New Footage Of Sandra Bland Arrest Released

“I’ll light you up.”

Those are the words of Trooper Brian Encinia the day she was put in custody following a traffic stop. Today (May 6), new footage was released which shows her perspective as the trooper pointed a taser at her face while ordering her to get out of the car.

Dallas television station WFAA uncovered the video following an investigative report accusing officials of concealing information on the case.

“Get out of the car,” the officer directs her as he points a Taser at her. “I will light you up. Get out. Now.” Bland at the this time was holding her cell phone as Encinia then directs her to get off the phone as she gets out the car.

“I’m not on the phone. I have a right to record. This is my property,” she says.

Bland was preparing a new life as the 28-year-old was driving near Prairie View A&M University in Texas to start a new job. The trooper claimed that she failed to demonstrate a turn signal.

Until now, we have only seen one video of the encounter from the perspective of the officer’s dashcam.

Enicinia had claimed his “safety was in jeopardy at more than one time,” during the encounter during different interviews. He was later indicted on perjury, but the charges were dropped after the trooper promised that we would no longer work in law enforcement.
