Snoop Dogg Claims Jay-Z Gave NFL Ultimatum Over Halftime Show, ‘They Perform, Or I Quit’

People are still raving about the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. 

Hip hop history was made as Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar hit the stage. 50 Cent came out as a surprise guest. This was the first time hip-hop was at the center of the show.

During a recent interview on Tidal, Snoop reflected on the show. Snoop told Elliot Wilson, “When I got home and watched it on playback, I thought it was the greatest sh-t ever.” In addition, According to Snoop, before the halftime show came to play, Hov had to “smooth things over” to ensure the performance could happen. Snoop said Jay-Z allegedly told the NFL, “They perform, or I quit.” 

During the interview, Snoop said, “that was some gangster sh*t.”

Hov partnered with the NFL in 2019 to advise its social justice initiatives and its entertainment.
