A 9-year-old girl who tested positive for coronavirus has died.

Kimora “Kimmie” Lynum is said to be the youngest person in the state of Florida to died from the illness. According to reports, Kimmie passed away on July 18th and reportedly didn’t have any underlying health conditions.

Lynum’s mother reportedly took Kimmie to the hospital after she was experiencing a high fever. They were sent home, where Kimmie collapsed shortly after. It is unclear where and how Kimmie was infected.

Kimmie’s family remembers her for having a sweet spirit, a contagious goofy laugh, and going to the pool to make TikToks. Her cousin also remembered Kimmie. “She was a happy child, but she didn’t even get to live her life. She was doing good at one point, and all of a sudden she had a situation with a fever.”

Florida Health records state that Kimmie is the fifth minor to die from the illness. They also say that Kimmie was not in close contact with anyone who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kimmie’s family during this time.
