T.I. addresses his son, King’s, behavior in a recent interview.
We’ve seen King grow up publicly right before our eyes, as T.I. and his family embarked on the ‘Family Hustle’ for many years. We previously reported that King went viral after he got into a heated argument with a Waffle House employee. “Of course, I spoke with my son. Me and his uncles,” T.I. said following the viral dispute. “We were perplexed by his necessity to go back-and-forth with the short-order cook. I didn’t understand why he felt he needed to stop what he was doing to engage someone who’s at another level of life.”
On a recent episode of Club Shay Shay podcast T.I. spoke about being in the public eye and being judged for his parenting skills. “I have excellent communication with all my kids. I try to listen as much as I speak to them. [King’s] position is, ‘I just don’t want to be celebrities’ kid. I don’t want to live off of y’all’s success. I don’t wanna have to just be in y’all’s shadow,’” T.I. explained to Sharpe.
He continued, “[King] wants a clean slate. I try to tell him he’ll never have that… You were born with it. You can’t give it back… I love him and I understand he has a strong sense of moral standards and integrity.”
“As much criticism I received about my son, I would like to shed light on the fact – we all got bada*s kids! They can seem like I’m the only one on here who got badass kids.”
