During the EPIC Verzuz battle between Fabolous and Jadakiss last night, Fab addressed why Ashanti and Tamia both have ‘Into You’ versions.
The song, Into You, is arguably one of Fab’s best songs, and for many years a lot of people wondered why Tamia AND Ashanti have versions of the song. “There is a lot of back and forth about how it was Tamia and Ashanti … Tamia is who the original song came from,” Fab explained.
He continued, “Tamia was getting surgery on her throat at the time, so we got Ashanti to do the song,” he continued. “When we did the video, she was back.”
As Fab was explaining the mix-up, Ashanti hopped in the comments to let Fab know that wasn’t the real story. She writes, “Noooo ima text you and tell you the real story.”
Seems like Tamia disagreed with the story as well, as she let it be known she had 0 throat surgeries.
