Tems Reflects On Co-Writing Rihanna’s New Single ‘Lift Me Up’

Tems reflects on co-writing Rihanna’s new single, “Lift Me Up”, off of the “Black Panther Two: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack.

“After speaking with Ryan [Coogler] and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life,” Tems shared

“I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor” she continued. The song was co-written with Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.

The ‘Higher’ singer also showed Rihanna some love on the ‘gram. She shared the cover picture for the single and captioned it, “Blessed to have written this song in honour of Chadwick Boseman and even more blessed to hear the baddest @badgalriri voice it to perfection”

Rihanna too showed Tems loved in return. She says, “It’s the pen for me.. love to you sistren..”
