‘The Best Man’ Got Picked Up By Peacock For A 10-Episode Series w/ Original Cast!

Universal’s 1999 classic, The Best Man, is returning to television!

As reported on Deadline, the movie’s storyline will continue with a limited series. The streaming service Peacock ordered 10-episodes and the series is called, The Best Man: The Final Chapters

The movie’s original writer and director Malcolm D. Lee and former Insecure executive producer Dayna Lynne North have their hands tied in the production. The original cast from the film will return, which includes, Morris ChestnutMelissa De SousaTaye DiggsRegina HallTerrence HowardSanaa LathanNia Long, and Harold Perrineau. The only actor that won’t be on this series is Monica Calhoun, whose character died in the sequel, The Best Man Holiday. 

The article also reports the actors closed “significant” seven-figure deals. The limited series will reportedly “catch up with Harper, Robyn, Jordan, Lance, Quentin, Shelby, Candace, and Murch as relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance,” Deadline reports. 

Harold shared the news via social media and said,

Following The Best Man, the sequel The Best Man Holiday film was released in 2013. The limited-edition series is set to air sometime in September! Will you be tuned in?
