The U.S. passed the bill to make the federal minimum wage $15 by the year 2025. Because of this bill, the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25 will be doubled meaning that someone who works 40 hours a week will be making around $15,000 a year. Right now, 29 states and Washington D.C. have higher pay floors than the U.S. There are already 7 states who have the approved $15 minimum wage per hour.

The passing of this bill is a huge win for the liberal party and it was passed by 231-199 vote. The last time the minimum wage was raised was over a decade ago. This is such great news!
