The Weeknd opened up about Usher’s Grammy award winning single, Climax.

During a recent interview, The Weeknd spoke about  the impact his first mixtape, House of Balloons. “House of Balloons literally changed the sound of pop music before my eyes,” although he knew how  mixtape changed the scope of R&B and pop music , he was not happy about other R&B artist emulating his sound.

“I heard ‘Climax,’ that Usher song, and was like, ‘Holy f*ck, that’s a Weeknd song,’” he said. He did mention “it was very flattering,” but he “also got angry.” He did recognized that it also meant that “I was doing something right,” and, “the older I got, I realized it’s a good thing.”

Usher may have posted this video in response to that comment. Take a look.
