Can you remember what you were doing around this time 10 years ago?

2009 seems like forever ago, but these specific moments will not let that year die down!  It’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane and recall some of the top moments in entertainment history. Here’s 10 unforgettable moments for us, but what are yours? Let us know!


  1. Lil Mama was known for her poppin’ lil gloss and the chicken noodle soup dance. Things took a surprising turn in her career at the 2009 VMA’s, when she invited herself on stage with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. We all remember this moment:


2. We gone let y’all finish but, Kanye West may take the crown for 2009’s top unforgettable moments. Also at the VMA’s, Kanye West would not let Taylor Swift be great. The country singer was on stage accepting the Best Female Video award, and well.. see the rest for yourself.



3. Speaking of Best Female Video, Beyonce was nominated in that same category, for her smash single ‘Single Ladies.’ Kanye felt like this was one of the best video’s of all times, and we couldn’t disagree:



4. In other icon news, we lost one of the greatest to ever do it back in 2009. Michael Jackson’s untimely passing shocked the world.  We are still mourning his passing.


 


5.We can’t even speak on unforgettable without mentioning the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. His term ran 2009-2017. A important moment in the history books.



6. Our hip-hop philosopher, father, husband, music mogul and inventor of the Trap Museum– shocked the world when we was sentenced to 1 year and one month in prison back in 2009. T.I. is a great example of how to turn your life around. Watch his welcome home video below:



7. 2009 was a great year for music and an even better year for Drake. He released the ‘So Far Gone’ mixtape and had every girl convinced she was the best he’s ever had.



8. Are you really vacationing if your trip doesn’t somehow turn out like ‘The Hangover.’ That gem was released back in 2009, and 10 years later, the whole movie will still make you LOL.



9. Speaking of Drake, the Grammy’s got it right when they awarded Lil Wayne the best rap album back in 2009. The Grammy was for his ‘Tha Carter III’ album.



10. Can we forget about Nicki Minaj? Absolutely not! In 2009 Nicki gave us ‘Itty Bitty Piggy,’ and set the tone for her lyrical ability. That song is still a BOP, ten years later.
