Ye and Drake made HISTORY last night (December 10) at their Free Larry Hoover benefit concert.

It went down at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and was streamed on Amazon/played at select theaters across the nation.

The overall performance was epic, and it was similar to a Timbaland and Swizz Beatz Verzuz. Before the two goats hit the stage, a choir sang beautiful church songs as well as hip hop classics like Lauryn Hill’s “Ready Or Not.” Finally, when they arrived, they walked down to the stage side by side; Drake gave Yeezy a dap, then Ye got in the zone and kicked off the show.

The night was filled with brotherly love, Ye spoke highly of Drake, and Drizzy gave Kanye his flowers and talked about how honored he was to be on stage with him. It was dope when Kanye rap Drake’s lyrics to “Find Your Love.” Drizzy did the same for Kanye, and they vibed out on stage, showing the world their beef is truly over.

Kanye performed a mixture of his classic joints while Drake mainly played songs from Certified Lover Boy. The music selection was also carefully curated as there was a nice balance of God-filled hip hop tracks, like “Jesus Walks” and “God’s Plan,” plus that hip hop ish we love to turn up to, like “Touch The Sky” and “Way 2 Sexy.”

They also paid a special tribute to Virgil Abloh. During one of Ye’s performances, he professed his love for his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian while performing “Runaway.”

The ultimate reason for the concert was to advocate for the release of the 71-year-old prisoner, Larry Hoover. In 1997, he was convicted of murder, conspiracy, extortion, and money laundering and is serving six life sentences in federal prison.

Before the concert went down, fans didn’t think it would be possible. But Ye and Drake squashed their beef and are finally in a better space. We love to see it!
