Trina was in a lot of hot water after she spoke about the protesting going on in Miami, and seemingly referred to the protesters as “animals.” During a conversation with Trick Daddy on their morning radio show, Trina sounded off about the current state of the world, how she felt about looting.

“They need to make the curfew at 6 p.m.,” Trina said. “Keep everybody off the street, these animals off the streets, that are running around in Miami-Dade County acting like they have escaped from a zoo. Lock them up at 5 p.m. so the streets can be nice and clean, that’s how I feel.”

After receiving a lot of backlash, and trending on social for hours, Trina cleared up her statements. She let her morning show listeners know that she wasn’t referring to Black people as animals.

“Me, in my Trina’s world, I’m automatically speaking for black people,” Trina said. “I am black people, that’s who I’m speaking for, so I’m not gonna say ‘black people are animals.’ I’m not talking to the protesters or those that are trying to make change. ”
