Two Reportedly Arrested For 2002 Murder Of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay

Two men have reportedly been arrested for the 2002 killing of Run-DMC’s  Jam Master Jay.

According to New York Times, law enforcement sources confirm Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan, Jr., who are both longtime suspects in the murder of hip-hop pioneer have been detained.

Jam Master Jay whose real name was Jason Mizell, was said to be murdered in his Queens, New York recording studio, 18 years ago on Oct. 30, 2002. The lack of leads and cooperation led to the NYPD ruling the murder a cold case in 2017. The two men were indicted on charges of murder while engaged in drug trafficking

Washington, 56, is already serving a federal prison for robbery, while Jordan, 36, was arrested on Sunday, according to reports.

A press conference announcing the indictment of Washington and Jordan is expected to take place today with Chief Rodney Harrison and the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Jam Master Jay was the DJ for the legendary group Run-DMC.
